South African PowerBall Product Rules
South African PowerBall has two events a week taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays in Cape Town at just after 9pm (7 pm GMT). Bets close at 8pm (6 pm GMT). You can bet on the outcome of this event and win the same prizes at Lottoland.
How do I choose a line and place a bet?
Just select 5 numbers from 1 to 50 and a “PowerBall” from 1 to 20. Once you have chosen your numbers, select which draw you want to bet on, either Tuesday or Friday, and press ‘Submit’. This will take you through to a checkout – at this stage just click ‘Confirm and proceed’ to place your bet.
How do I win the Top Prize?
You will win our top prize if your 5 main numbers and PowerBall number match those in the official South African PowerBall event.
Can I win all the same prizes betting on the event with Lottoland?
Betting with us, you win the same amount that you would have won.
When does the draw take place?
The PowerBall event takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays in Cape Town at just after 21:00. Bets close at 20:00 (South African time). The draw is done using a computerised system that chooses the winning numbers at random.
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 42,375,200. A breakdown of all the odds for each prize tier is included below.
What is the PowerBall Plus?
PowerBall Plus is an additional event which follows on from the main South African PowerBall event. If you would like to bet on this additional event, just tick the PowerBall Plus box located directly under the main bet slip. The same numbers you selected in the main event will be used for your bet in this supplementary draw.

What do I do if I win?
If your account has been verified simply proceed to your account and withdraw your winnings. If your account has not been, verified you will first need to provide proof of your ID and proof of address. Once this has been confirmed you will be able to withdraw your winnings.
Is the payout guaranteed? How do I know?
At Lottoland we can guarantee you will be paid out on your winnings.Lottoland South Africa will pay-out winnings in line with the pay-out tables published by each individual operator for every single event. Our aim is to put the player in the same economic positions that they would have been , if they participated in the actual event and won any of the prize tiers or pay-out divisions . Please refer to our terms and conditions for more details on pay-out rules.
For smaller prize tier payments we make the payment directly from the fund we have from the total stakes collected.
In order for us to make the larger prize tier payments we take out insurance policies to cover the eventuality of a maximum payout win.
We are registered with and regulated by the Western Cape Racing and Gambling Board, under bookmaker license number 10185706-001 In order for us to retain these licences we have to prove that we are able to make the required payouts to our players should they win and that we have the correct procedures in place to guarantee this.
What is a Subscription?
Subscriptions remove the hassle of betting on repeat lines and the fear of missing out on that big prize win. Our Subscription feature allows you to set up a running bet or bets on a given lottery event. The subscription is open ended and will run for as long as you want it too. You can opt out at any time.
