How do I fill out an Austrian Lotto bet?
Placing an Austrian Lotto bet is easy – even if you have never played the event before. Inside the betslip area you’ll see a grid of boxes, each representing one of the 45 numbers you can choose. Simply tick the boxes to pick your six numbers.
A manual or quickpick 6-number bet will cost you R30.
Combo Feature: If you select more than six numbers you will automatically trigger the Combo feature, also known as a system bet. Picking extra numbers will increase your bet price. Playing with additional numbers in multiple combinations, however, will also increase your chances of winning.
The Joker: By opting to play the add-on Joker event you have yet another opportunity to get rich. Six numbers from zero to nine are drawn from the drum. Each time a number is drawn it is then placed back into the drum, theoretically allowing the same number to be drawn an additional five times.
Unlike the regular event you cannot select specific numbers because, in Austria, the Joker event corresponds to the serial number on an actual lottery ticket. In Lottoland these numbers are pre-picked using the same numerical structure. Unlike when you play with an actual ticket, however, with Lottoland you also have the option of clicking the refresh button (the circling arrow icon) next to your numbers to generate a new number sequence. Feel free to do this as many times as you wish until you have a sequence you would like to play with. You can also select up to three different Joker number sequences. Each Joker selection costs R34 extra.
Draw Options: The Austrian Lotto and Joker events take place every Wednesday at 18:45 and Sundays at 19:15. The extra Friday draw will take place at 18:30 CET time. Select the number of consecutive draws you want to participate in.
Duration Options: The Duration options allow you to select how many draws you wish to bet. The Sub (subscription) option lets you bet on these games indefinitely (unless you cancel). So, if you select to bet for two draws, you will bet for two draws. If you check the Subscription box, however, you will bet until you cancel your subscription and be billed every two weeks.
Finally, you have the PayoutHunt feature. This allows you to play until a given tier 1 payout is won.
As a Lottoland player, you will be automatically notified by email of your transaction and will then subsequently be sent an email with each draw’s results. You will also be sent an email detailing any wins and the amount that has been credited to your Lottoland account.
What is the Joker number and how is it determined?
The Joker number is part of the special Joker bonus event. It is composed of six numbers from a range of 0 to 9.
If you play with an actual Austrian Lotto ticket the Joker number sequence corresponds to your ticket’s six-digit serial number. This is why you cannot pick each number individually as with the regular event.
With Lottoland the numbers are generated at random, however you do have the option to change these numbers by clicking the Refresh button on the right hand side of your Joker numbers. You can generate as many new Joker numbers as you wish until you land a sequence you are happy with, and you can choose up to three different number sequences at a time.
To win the Joker event you need to have the correct numbers in the correct sequence.
The top tier prize is awarded if you get all six numbers in a row. The second tier prize is awarded when you have the last five numbers in a row, the fourth prize for when you have the last four numbers in a row and so on. The last prize is therefore awarded if you have guessed the final number correctly, where the odds of winning are 1:16
