It may seem surprising that the German Lotto has become so popular here, but a closer look reveals that it is a very savvy choice! Firstly, it is one of the cheapest lotteries to bet on. Second, it has a guaranteed minimum payout of €1,000,000 (cR19.800,000). Thirdly, there are no less than three bonus games that you can get involved in each week. Finally, the super-simple rules make it super-easy to learn how to bet on the German Lotto!
How to Bet on German Lotto
6aus49 translates as 6 from 49, and that is the simple essence of the German Lotto. There are 49 numbers to choose from (from 1 to 49), and your job is to pick 6 numbers from that selection. Next, you will need a SuperBall from 0 to 9 which is automatically generated for you (it is the last digit of your ticket number).
What is great about betting on the German Lotto with Lottoland is that you can change your choice of SuperBall, an option that those buying a ticket in Germany do not have. All you need to do is click on the dice icon to the right of your ticket number to generate a new series of numbers. You can do this as many times as you want until you get a number that you are happy with.
By the way, that ticket number is important, you might need it later…

The German Lotto is interesting when it comes to its odds. With top payout odds of almost 140 million to 1, it isn’t one the easiest lottos to win. However, it does compare very well to fellow European lottos such as EuroJackpot, Superlotto and EuroMillions. Interestingly, it also offers very palatable odds of 1 in 63 of winning one of the smaller payouts. To compare, the SA Lotto will only give you odds of 1 in 72 of hitting the bottom payout, while Poland’s Mini Lotto offers even longer odds of 1 in 128.

Coming in at R100 for a bet it is a bit pricier than the other bets, but the payouts on offer more than make up for that! If your ticket number matches the numbers drawn, then you are pretty much set for the next two decades, with a guaranteed €20,000 (c.R397,000) per month for 20 years coming your way. The second-highest payout is worth noting as well, with €100,000 up for grabs if you match the last 6 digits of your ticket number!
