Lottoland Help N’ Dorp
The Lottoland Help n’ Dorp (Help a Town) TV programme is Lottoland’s latest community-focused initiative which aims to help improve and benefit small towns across South Africa. To do this we are going on the road to visit the residents of these towns who have a dream to affect positive change in their community.
However, we aren’t just visiting to merely talk about dreams, we are visiting to turn those dreams into reality! This initiative will review project proposals from the residents of these communities and bring them to life with a budget of up to 500,000 ZAR!
Why Should You Apply For Lottoland Help n’ Dorp?
Our Help n’ Dorp TV programme offers residents a unique opportunity to improve the day-to-day life their community. If there is an aspect of town life that you and your fellow residents feel has been overlooked or underserved in recent years, then this is an opportunity to get the funding needed to give them the attention that they need and deserve.
In addition to this, your towns progress will be followed and shown on national television. This will showcase not only the dream project but also your town and the civic pride of your local community!
The Projects We Are Looking For
The needs and aspirations of different towns across the country are not going to be the same. We know this. This is why we haven’t put strict restrictions on the type of proposals we want to see. Just tell us your dream and how it would improve the lives of your fellow residents and we will support you to make it a reality.
The project can help to benefit a variety of sectors, be it education, community, sustainability, tourism or anything else that would bring value to your town. If you think your town needs new sporting facilities, then get in touch! Is there a tourist attraction that’s needs renovated? Let us know! Would your town benefit from a community centre? Then we want to hear from you!
Other eligible projects include:
Library
Learning centre
Supporting existing community facilities like schools or nursing homes
Investment in renewable energies
Restoring historic buildings
R1 Million Already Pledged!
We just couldn't wait to get started! Weeks before the first episode of the TV show was due to air, we sponsored Kwela's "Dorp van die Jaar" to reward the town of the year. After three months of searching and viewers voting, we were finally able to award the town of Delmas with a prize of R1 million!
The Delmas Revitalisation project intends to use the funds to truly transform the town. Equipment to repair potholes will be purchased, while the town also plans to buy skips and create a transfer station for rubbish to be dumped.
Delmas has done and it, and now your town can too!
